Block DAG
Multi-Parent Consensus
Every block may belong to the main chain or exist in parallel. Blocks may reference up to 10 parents. GHOSTDAG colours the well-connected blocks blue and orders all of them; the chain is the path of selected parents. Blue blocks earn the block reward, while red blocks earn nothing and their fees go to the block that merged them.
The graph
The newest blocks, left to right by blue score. Every line is a parent link; the bright path is the selected chain. Blue knots: blue blocks. Muted red knots: red blocks. Outlined knots: not merged yet. 34 of the last 80 blocks have two or more parents. Click a knot to open the block.
